Skipper Jordan Henderson was back in the Liverpool fold ahead of Burnley clash with the midfield man returning to training on Friday.
The 30-year-old had sat out the midweek win over Leicester City with a back knock but his return to the Liverpool ranks comes as a major boost on the injury front for the boss Jurgen Klopp.
Henderson’s fitness update was sounded out by the Liverpool manager in his remarks in the pre-match presser with Klopp hinting that the captain was in the mix to feature come Sunday at Turf Moor against Burnley.
“Hendo, yes, definitely will be back.
“That’s the plan, was the plan before the game and is still the plan now. If nothing happens, he will play on Sunday.
Klopp also provided an encouraging update for Joe Gomez and Divock Origi who had been sidelined last time around but will report back to full training shortly.
“The other two were not injured. What I said, it didn’t happen a lot that we have these quality players and then they couldn’t make the squad.
“For Joe, it was the situation that we have to make the decision – do we want to have a second centre-half on the bench or not?
“Div is not too long back in training after his injury, so that was the decision there. But both will train fully.”
The AFCON-winning Senegal star winger Sadio Mane, meanwhile, is understood to be nearing his return to the pitch for Liverpool as well with the 29-year-old pictured in training along with his teammates.
