As stated by the Athletic, Jordan Henderson is moving closer to a transfer to Saudi Arabia as he has undergone a medical examination ahead of his potential move to Al-Ettifaq.
The Liverpool midfielder left the team’s training camp in Germany on Wednesday as a deal in principle was reached between the two clubs.
The proposed transfer fee is initially set at £12 million for Henderson, who still has two years remaining on his contract at Anfield.
The Liverpool captain underwent initial medical tests in Manchester on Friday as he considers a lucrative offer to play in the Saudi Pro League with Al-Ettifaq and reunite with former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard.

Jurgen Klopp explained that he decided to leave Henderson out of the squad for Wednesday’s friendly match against Karlsruher SC as the captain was contemplating his future.
The German manager has also approved the departure of Fabinho from Liverpool after the club received a £40 million offer from Saudi Pro League champions Al-Ittihad eight days ago.
Although there has been a wait since the offer, the Reds do not expect any complications with the transfer and are moving forward with their plans to sign at least one more midfielder before the Premier League opener against Chelsea on August 13.
