Jurgen Klopp refused to confirm whether Liverpool FC skipper Jordan Henderson remains in the fray to return to the Reds lineup for the upcoming league fixture away at Brighton come Saturday afternoon.
Henderson’s absence from the first-team squad had been notable of late, with the England international having sustained a hamstring issue whilst on international duty with The Three Lions earlier this month.
However, the 30-year-old central midfielder staged a comeback to Liverpool FC training on Thursday, indicating that Klopp was pushing for his key player to be back in the starting XI for the weekend showdown at the Amex.
When quizzed upon by reporters in his pre-game interview, Klopp did not give away too much on Henderson’s availability, with the gaffer insisting that a call upon the player’s selection will be taken following advisement from the Liverpool FC medical staff.
“Hendo trained yesterday in parts of the team training and his own individual session so we have to see what we do with that. All the other players that played are in recovery,” he told his pre-match press conference.
“That’s how it is when you have so few days in between. So we have to make late decisions. If you asked me my line up, I couldn’t tell you. I have to wait for medical department to tell me who looks like being ready.”
With an ever-increasing number of injury concerns surrounding the Anfield giants, the return of Jordan Henderson would come as a massive boost to Klopp and Co. ahead of a congested fixture list awaiting Liverpool FC in the month of December.
