Injury Update

Jordan Henderson is in line to miss the next five games for Liverpool due to injury

Jordan Henderson’s recently sustained injury during Saturday’s Merseyside derby clash looks certain to sideline the Liverpool FC skipper for the forthcoming line of fixtures awaiting the under-fire Reds.

According to recent reports from the Daily Mail, Henderson is in line to be absent for the forthcoming Premier League games for Jurgen Klopp’s outfit when they play Sheffield United, Chelsea, Fulham and Wolves in addition to the second leg of the Last-16 UEFA Champions League tie against German opponents RB Leipzig.

Moreover, the 30-year-old Henderson is unlikely to be in contention to make the squad for the England national team as Gareth Southgate’s men prepare for the start of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The former Sunderland man had to be forced off the Anfield pitch last weekend in the 2-0 defeat to Everton after having pulled a muscle in his abductor region as his side trailed the Toffees following Richarlison’s opening strike putting the visitors ahead in only the third minute of the derby game.

Henderson’s role in the Liverpool FC XI has witnessed a major overhaul on the back of the injury-depleted backline at Jurgen Klopp’s disposal, leading to the ever-reliant captain having to turn out in the centre-back position since the turn of the year.
