Jordan Henderson returns to training ahead of Brighton clash

Reds skipper Jordan Henderson was present in first-team training ahead of the weekend Premier League fixtures, in which Jurgen Klopp’s side pay a visit to Brighton on Saturday afternoon.

Despite not being in attendance for the mid-week loss to Atalanta at Anfield, Henderson’s return to training could provide Jurgen Klopp with a much-needed injury boost in the light of Liverpool FC’s poor display on Wednesday night against their Serie A opponents.

Henderson has been missing from action in recent games for Liverpool FC, having sustained a tight hamstring issue while on international duty with the England squad earlier this month. However, the 30-year-old midfielder had withdrawn from Gareth Southgate’s side to arrive at Melwood prior to last weekend’s 3-0 win over Leicester City.

He was snapped training at the club’s new training facility of Kirkby, as posted on Twitter by the official club account, alongside a few of his other teammates, an indication of Klopp’s desire to draft Henderson straight back into the XI for the Reds on their travels away from home in the upcoming weekend fixture.

In the aftermath of Naby Keita also having suffered the unfortunate fate of a hamstring issue, it could be expected of Henderson to replace the teenage midfield starlet Curtis Jones in the Liverpool FC lineup as Klopp’s side will be pushing for a return-to-best win over Graham Potter’s Brighton side.
