Jordan Henderson is back in training for Liverpool but the skipper remains away from the club’s pre-season training camp at Evian which is currently in full swing.
The 31-year-old midfielder’s future on Merseyside beyond this summer’s transfer window has taken a turn for the unexpected with rumours growing that Liverpool could be forced to sanction Henderson’s sale amid a breakdown in his contract extension talks.
However, with the start of the upcoming Premier League campaign less than ten days away, Henderson has staged a return to training after being handed an extended holiday for his European Championships commitments with England earlier this summer.

Speaking to the club’s official website in the aftermath of Liverpool’s win over Bologna in the pre-season friendly fixture, Jurgen Klopp confirmed Henderson’s return to training back in Liverpool with the player set to join the first-team fold this coming Saturday.
The Reds gaffer added that Henderson was in line to feature on a sporadic basis in what remains of Liverpool’s pre-season commitments against Spanish duo Athletic Club and Osasuna.
