Injury Update

Jordan Henderson to return to Liverpool training following FA Community Shield clash on Saturday

Recent reports from sources close to Liverpool FC indicate the near-certain possibility of Jordan Henderson returning to full training sessions following the Reds’ FA Community Shield clash against Arsenal this weekend.

The Reds skipper has been missing from action after sustaining a knee injury against Brighton in the first week of July. The injury meant that Henderson missed the remaining league fixtures for the Anfield outfit, despite being present for the trophy lifting presentation after his side stormed to a 5-3 win over Chelsea in the Merseyside club’s penultimate home game of the 2019-20 season.

However, despite him being sidelined from first-team involvement, for the time being, the English international had joined up with his teammates at Liverpool FC’s pre-season training base in Austria. The 30-year old was seen taking part in individual sessions to help fasten his recovery process.

Henderson is sure to miss Saturday’s Wembley showdown against FA Cup holders Arsenal, according to reports. But the English international will be back in time for Liverpool FC’s opening league fixture of the 2020-21 season against Leeds United on 12th September.
