Tottenham Hotspurs are rumored to be plotting a shock swoop for Liverpool FC starlet Rhian Brewster this summer, reports suggest.
The England U21 forward linked up with his Reds teammates after a hugely productive six-month loan spell at Championship side Swansea City. He scored 11 times in 22 competitive fixtures for Steve Cooper’s side, however, the Welsh club failed to seal promotion to the Premier League.
Brewster had recently voiced his intention of staying at the Merseyside outfit next season and fighting for a first-team spot. Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp also is believed to be keen on giving greater first-team action to the 20-year old striker for the Reds.
However, there does exist a possibility of the German coach sanctioning another loan move for Brewster in this summer’s transfer window. Klopp’s decision on the player’s future at Anfield beyond this summer could rest upon Divock Origi’s transfer status.
If the Belgian international depart the Premier League champions ahead of next season, Brewster is tipped to claim the backup striker role for Liverpool FC.
Spurs’ boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly looking for a second-choice striker for his side this summer to provide cover for Harry Kane. Brewster has caught the eye of the Tottenham Hotspurs boss with his goalscoring spree for Swansea City earlier this year.
