Jurgen Klopp applauds Mohamed Salah’s display against Norwich

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp issued high plaudits for Mohamed Salah’s history-achieving feat against Norwich City on the opening day of the new Premier League campaign.

Salah scored Liverpool’s third and final goal of the Carrow Road showdown in what turned out to be a 3-0 win for the visiting Merseysiders.

The Egypt international star forward became the first player in Premier League history to score on five successive opening days of the campaign in the process and the feat was applauded by his boss Jurgen Klopp in the German’s post-match remarks.

“I would assume he knew about that and wanted to score it! Extra motivation!

“A really good game. When you know about that and you set up the first two goals, which is really cool, and after he scored he tried to find Sadio twice with a pass, so that was really, really good. But Mo is Mo and when the competition starts, he goes into the next gear because he’s a proper competitive boy.

“It’s good to have him!”

Diogo Jota had given Liverpool the lead against the newly-promoted Norwich outfit following which substitute Roberto Firmino added his name to the scoresheet after being set up by Salah’s pinpoint pass.

It all came down to Salah to triple Liverpool’s advantage over their opponents and put the game to bed for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
