Jurgen Klopp confirmed a minor injury setback for his star forward Diogo Jota ahead of the weekend’s FA Cup semi-final tie against Manchester City.
Jota, however, should be deemed fit to feature in the forthcoming outing for Liverpool, according to Klopp’s remarks to the press as quoted by a report from Manchester Evening News.
“Diogo has a good chance he will be all right but we need to have a look tomorrow.
“That’s it.”
The Portugal international forward was substituted around the hour mark in Liverpool’s 3-3 draw against Benfica midweek with Klopp ringing in changes from the bench on course to emerge winners over the two-legged tie.
Benfica did give the Merseysiders a scare on the latter’s home turf but were unable to prevent Jordan Henderson and Co. from booking their spot in the last four of the Champions League.
Liverpool will now take on giant-killers Villarreal CF in the semi-finals after the La Liga outfit sent Bayern Munich crashing out of the competition following a spirited showing from Unai Emery’s men.
