Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed the return of his Brazilian star forward Roberto Firmino ahead of the Brighton clash on Saturday.
Firmino had been missing in action for the last six weeks owing to an adductor injury but has a week-long of training under his belt heading into the contest against Graham Potter’s Seagulls over the weekend.
Klopp sounded out a welcome boost on the injury front for his side with Firmino back in the fold but the former did admit concern for players or staff who have tested positive for COVID-19 without naming any, claims a report from The Athletic.
“Bobby is fine.
“Nothing new injury-wise but COVID is not over. These kind of things are still going on. We have or at least we had….. we will see how that’s going on. We train later.
“We try absolutely everything to avoid it but it’s not really possible. Players or staff who have it now have no symptoms which is good but still they cannot be involved so we will see.”
With Firmino’s return, Klopp will have a wide array of attacking options to choose from on the back of the arrival of Luis Diaz who made the move to Merseyside in the final days of the January transfer window.
Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane remain the influential figures in the final third for Liverpool with Diogo Jota hoping to get back in on the goals after an underwhelming display last time around against Inter Milan.
