Jurgen Klopp hails Divock Origi following Liverpool’s Merseyside derby win

Jurgen Klopp hailed Divock Origi following Liverpool’s Merseyside derby win on Sunday in which the Belgian striker scored after coming off the bench.

Origi was instrumental in cementing Liverpool’s three points against their arch-rivals which meant that Jurgen Klopp’s Reds moved back to just a point adrift of the table-toppers Manchester City.

The Belgium international once again proved his ‘super-sub credentials’ to score his sixth goal in 10 derby contests against Everton as he netted from close range following Luis Diaz’s acrobatic assist.

His future at Anfield beyond this coming summer has been subject to much speculation, however, with rumours doing the rounds that AC Milan are in pole position to land his signature on a free transfer with Origi set to pen a four-year deal.

According to a report from The Daily Mail, Jurgen Klopp has been quoted praising Origi’s ability in front of the goal with the Liverpool boss claiming the Liverpool striker was a ‘world-class striker’ following his exploits on Sunday in an important win for the Merseysiders.

‘He is a legend on and off the pitch. He is fantastic footballer for me, he is a world-class striker, our best finisher, he always was and everyone would say the same. He does it in training and then not in squad and that is really hard, a really hard decision to make.

‘The boys all are responsible for the situation we are in. Everybody loves Div and rightly so. He was again very decisive.’
