Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he is not really interested or motivated by winning trophies and claimed that he just wants to get better with each passing day.
The Reds are currently sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League table and are the only club that has their 100 percent streak intact after four games this season. Liverpool ended last season with one of the most prestigious trophies in football as they brought back the Champions League to Anfield for the sixth time in the club’s history.
In last season’s Premier League, Liverpool endured their most successful campaign ever since the club was formed back in 1892 as they recorded 97 points but that was still not enough to dethrone Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City as they pipped the Merseyside outfit by just one solitary point.
Liverpool is yet to win the Premier League trophy and end their 30-year wait to be crowned as champions of England. Having come so close to tasting success in the country, Liverpool is ready to give City another run for their money this season but Jurgen Klopp is not motivated by winning trophies.
The German boss shockingly admitted that titles are not something that helps him succeed but he also wants to win every game, “Titles are and were never my motivation. I want to win every game and make my players better day by day. And then we’ll see where that leads. We were very close last year. You lose only one game in the whole season, and it’s not enough, in the end, that was very bitter. But it is also clear that with my team much is possible. And yes, the title in the Premier League would be a great endorsement for many years of hard work.”
