Alex Oxlade Chamberlain is one face that has been missing from the Liverpool FC ranks since the turn of the new season, with the former Gooner sustaining a major injury blow during the Reds’ pre-season training camp in Austria earlier this year.
In his pre-match interview ahead of the Merseysiders playing hosts to Wolves on Sunday, Klopp gave a very positive feedback when quizzed upon Chamberlain’s return to action in the Liverpool FC colours.
“Ox looks really promising, he is doing a lot of stuff. He is warming up with the team now, some ball work, a lot of stuff, but we will develop that now over the next few days.
“Then we will see from which moment on it makes sense to throw him in. He is not too far away.”
Chamberlain’s closing in on a return to the field would come as a massive boost to a severely injury-depleted Reds squad, with James Milner and Alisson Becker joining the recovery table attendance prior to this week’s Ajax fixture.
The English international’s prolonged presence in Klopp’s side has been largely curtialed due to a number of recurring injury troubles affecting his chances of claiming a regular spot in the lineup since his move to Anfield three summers ago.
