Brazilian midfielder Fabinho was left in pain with an injury as Liverpool drew 1-1 at Anfield against Napoli in the Champions League and Reds boss Jurgen Klopp seems concerned about the 25-year-old.
Fabinho suffered an injury as he was hurt in the 14th minute at Anfield on Wednesday and the midfielder needed treatment after he collided with Napoli attacker Hirving Lozano.
The ‘Lighthouse’ of Liverpool was then substituted after initially trying to play on, and Klopp indicated that Fabinho will need tests to examine the extent of his injury but expressed concern over the midfielder.
In a press conference after the game, the 52-year-old German explained that Fabinho is in pain at the moment so it doesn’t look too good, “I don’t know. He has pain, so that’s not good, He couldn’t continue, and he is a really hard one. I don’t want to say what I expect, because I hope that it is not that serious, but we will know more maybe tomorrow, maybe the day after. We will see.”
The Merseyside giants missed the opportunity to clinch top spot in their group as they were held in a 1-1 draw against the Serie A outfit Napoli as Dejan Lovren scored an equalizer following Dries Mertens strike in the first half.
However, Klopp will be sweating over the fitness of Fabinho as he has been an absolute tank in the center of the pitch and helping Liverpool to the summit of the Premier League table, giving them an eight-point lead ahead of 2nd placed Leicester City.
Liverpool will get back to Premier League action back on Saturday when they face Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield to maintain their incredible start to the new season.
