Fabinho’s positional plans for Wednesday night’s Champions League tie against RB Leipzig remains to be seen, said Jurgen Klopp as the Liverpool FC boss refused to be drawn into questions over the role to be played by the Brazillian international.
The former AS Monaco man had been an established starter in the centre of the park for the Merseysiders before an injury-ravaged backline forced Klopp to field Fabinho as his makeshift option at centre-back.
The 27-year-old could, however, be seen back into his usual holding role in the Liverpool FC midfield in the wake of Klopp acquring fresh blood in the defensive department, with Ozan Kabak arriving on Merseyside in a short-term loan deal along with Ben Davies.
Ahead of the forthcoming game to be held at the Puskas Arena, Klopp was quizzed upon by reporters in his pre-match press conferrence over his plans for Fabinho’s role in the Reds eleven going forward into this season but the German coach was hesistant in his approach towards the topic, saying that a final decision would be taken on the day of the match.
“I don’t know with Fab. I know, but I don’t say, let me say it like this.
“It’s an opportunity to use Fab, that is good.
“We didn’t play him from the beginning (against Fulham) because after being out for a long time then playing two games in a row makes no sense, or it is too dangerous in our situation, actually.
“And now he is ready but if he will play at centre-half or in midfield, that decision you will see tomorrow.”
