Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp admitted that he prefers Lionel Messi over Cristiano Ronaldo, even though the German explained the Juventus winger was as close to the most “perfect player” to ever grace the game.
Barcelona and Argentina captain Lionel Messi is widely regarded as one of the best players ever in the history of the sport. Messi’s counterpart Cristiano Ronaldo is also a well-renowned footballer who continues to win accolades and awards at a consistent basis despite being 35 years old.
Fans continue to debate over which of the two players, Ronaldo or Messi is better and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who has come up against both the global superstars explained that he prefers the Barcelona talisman over the current Juventus forward.
The 52-year-old German hailed 32-year-old Lionel Messi and also paid tribute to Ronaldo to continue their long-standing battle of dominance in football for beyond a decade. Over the past 12 years, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have shared the prestigious Ballon d’Or award on 11 of the past 12 occasions.
Klopp also spoke highly about Ronaldo’s work ethic and his ability to train hard and keep in shape at such an age but explained that Messi makes football a lot easier due to his magical touch and talent.
