Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is enthusiastic about the possibility of acquiring additional midfielders during this summer transfer window.
He acknowledges the necessity of making new signings, especially with Fabinho also expected to leave the club, following Jordan Henderson’s departure. Klopp is keen to strengthen the midfield area to reinforce the squad for the upcoming season.
Liverpool have already made two midfield signings this summer, securing the services of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig.
These new players were brought in to fill the void left by the departures of key players, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Naby Keita.
Despite these additions, the Reds are still facing further player exits, necessitating the need for more signings to strengthen their midfield options for the upcoming season.

Liverpool has had an initial offer of £40 million for Southampton star Romeo Lavia turned down, but they are likely to come back with an improved bid.
In a press conference on Saturday, Jurgen Klopp stated his intention to actively pursue new signings and is excited about the prospect of welcoming fresh faces to the club. As reported by the Daily Express, he said:
“Fabinho isn’t done yet, but he’s not here. We will have to get used to these things now. Timings aren’t what we are used to. It’s definitely important to strengthen in midfield. We have to do something, that is clear.”
“We are working on solutions. First people want changes, now everyone is worrying about the changes. We are really optimistic about it. Excited as well.”
Lavia has spent only one season in the top flight with Southampton since his transfer from Manchester City in the previous summer.
Despite his limited experience, his impressive displays on the field have caught the attention of several English clubs, generating interest in acquiring his services.
