Jurgen Klopp sounds out concern over Curtis Jones’ eye injury

Jurgen Klopp has sounded out concern over Curtis Jones’ eye injury which is set to rule out the midfield man for several more weeks.

The England U21 international has been on the sidelines prior to the recent international break and looks set for an extended spell out, according to the Liverpool manager Klopp in his recent remarks to the club’s official website.

“I thought I saw all injuries as a manager, but that was really a freak one. He was very lucky – very lucky – in the end because we all know with the eye there’s no jokes about that, let me say it like this.”

“He is good, he is just not allowed to do a lot of things in the moment, we have to wait until the doctors give us a green light. Curtis is completely fine, he has his eyesight back, all these kinds of things, but the eye is still recovering.”

Klopp’s comments come ahead of the weekend showdown awaiting his players on home turf against Arsenal in what will be a must-win game for the Premier League giants.

The Merseysiders have failed to win their last two league outings against Brighton and West Ham United with the latter handing a first defeat of the season to Jordan Henderson and Co. last time around.

Chelsea have opened up a three-point lead at the summit of the table which will add to the pressure on Liverpool to mark a return to winning ways when they take the field come Saturday.
