Jurgen Klopp sounded out fears of an injury for Diogo Jota in the aftermath of the 4-0 win for his players against Arsenal over the weekend.
The Portugal international forward was involved in a nasty collision with Arsenal shot-stopper Aaron Ramsdale and both players were subject to medical assessment on the pitch.
In his post-match remarks to the press, Klopp admitted that Jota’s knock was a concern for the Anfield camp but voiced hope that a spell on the sidelines did not await the former Wolves man who has been in top form as of late.
“Diogo got a proper knock against his knee, now we have to see how quick that develops.”
“Hopefully nothing serious.”
Jota got on the scoresheet against Arsenal with the 24-year-old doubling Liverpool’s advantage after the visitor’s frailties at the back allowed the Liverpool man to use his deft footwork and go past Ben White and Ramsdale.
Roberto Firmino’s injury has meant a regular berth on the starting team sheet for Jota who has proven his efficient self in front of the goal for Klopp with the Liverpool boss lacking quality options in his attacking roster.
