Liverpool’s skipper Jordan Henderson has his Anfield future subject to intense speculation as of late following reports that his contract talks with the club had hit a major roadblock ahead of the next season’s start.
With talk gaining ground that the 31-year-old Liverpool midfield general could seek a move away from Merseyside as early as this summer, Paris Saint-Germain and La Liga holders Atletico Madrid were tipped to be the clubs leading the line for his signature.
However, reports from The Metro now claim that Serie A heavyweights Juventus have also joined in on the race to sign the Reds star first-teamer who could be on his way out of Anfield before Jurgen Klopp’s men begin their 2021-22 campaign next month.
It is understood that Henderson’s representatives could not come to an agreement with the Liverpool board over the talks that had commenced regarding his contract extension with just two years to go on his current deal at Anfield.
Liverpool are hoping not to lose out on their star midfield man for free when Henderson’s contract runs out and could be forced to hasten his departure this summer with a host of big European clubs in the fray for the player’s transfer.
