Klopp Lost For Words Following Unbeaten Streak

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has described the Reds’ accomplishment of going a year without defeat in the Premier League as “exceptional” following the 2-0 win over Sheffield United at Anfield on Thursday.

Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah and Senegalese forward Sadio Mane got the goals for the Merseyside giants, who were dominant throughout the game and opened the inside four minutes.

The victory against Chris Wilder’s side meant that Liverpool will have passed a year unbeaten in the top flight by the time they are next in action on January 11, as their last defeat in the league was a 2-1 loss against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on January 3rd, 2019.

Only two Premier League teams have ever enjoyed longer unbeaten runs in the league and Liverpool appear destined to claim their first Premier League crown in 30 years this season.

Being 16 points clear at the summit of the Premier league table, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has hailed his team and opened up on their stunning unbeaten streak for more than 365 days in the Premier League, “It says a lot of positive things. I have not enough words for it, it is exceptional, We did not think about one year, 365 days or whatever, tonight. We thought about winning this game, that was the target and how it always was.”

The 52-year-old German further added praise for his boys and stated that his plans are to remain focused throughout, “The boys were 100 percent focused, that’s the important stuff. Keep this game unspectacular, that was the plan. Our New Year starts at the end of May, so we have season resolutions, not New Year resolutions.”
