Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he feels Leicester City Jamie Vardy will destroy the Reds defense if they play in the same way they did against Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday night at Anfield.
Although it was a seven goal thriller in the Champions League, Champions League holders Liverpool surrendered a three-goal lead before eventually overcoming their Group E opponents Salzburg 4-3 in on Wednesday night.
The Reds lost their opening match in the Champions League to Serie A giants Napoli but cruised into a 3-0 lead by the 36th-minute mark thanks to Sadio Mane, Andy Robertson, and Mohamed Salah.
However, the Austrian outfit managed to score three goals in a space of 21 minutes to sensationally restore parity before Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah scored his second of the game which was incidentally the match-winning goal in the 69th minute.
Liverpool will now turn their attention on Leicester City on Saturday’s when Brendan Rodgers will return to Anfield in a bid to break his former clubs 100 percent win streak.
And Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has stated that Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy could have a field day if his defense isn’t prepared, “If we would now lose complete faith in ourselves when things are getting a bit more difficult in a game [it would be silly], For tonight it’s done but the job will be similar on Saturday and we have only three days to recover. Christian Fuchs was here tonight as a pundit and all of the others [Leicester players] were on the sofa and watched the game, so that’s slightly different preparation for that game. I am sure Brendan Rodgers thinks if we protect like we did tonight then Jamie Vardy will probably run through five times alone on the goalkeeper.”
