According to the recent reports, Dejan Lovren’s agent has held talks with AC Milan over a potential move for the Croatian central defender in the summer transfer window but Jurgen Klopp is still having a second thought on selling Lovren.
Liverpool had an incredible season in the Premier League as they endured their best ever season ever since the club was formed back in 1892. However, that was still not enough to win the Premier League title as Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City finished the campaign with 98 points and pipped the Merseyside club by just one solitary point.
However, Liverpool won the Champions League and renowned their status as one of the biggest clubs in the European continent. But Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is keen on dethroning Manchester City as champions of England and ending their dominance in the county’s top division.
In order to achieve that feat, Klopp has to downsize and keep hold of the players that he requires and offload the ones that will not be able to contribute as much as he would prefer.
There has been some speculation revolving around Dejan Lovren’s future at Liverpool as the center back has lost out his place in the starting eleven over the last few seasons and has fallen further down the pecking order.
Virgil Van Dijk is the mainstay in the backline for the Reds and Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are preferred ahead of Lovren.
Now Lovren’s agent Vlado Lemic has reportedly held private talks with officials from AC Milan in order to negotiate a deal with Liverpool over the 30-year-old defender. The Serie A giants are considering a €20 million bid for Lovren but Jurgen Klopp has no intention of selling Lovren to the San Siro this summer.
