Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has moved to quash reports which claim that the Premier League leaders are in line to make a move for Borussia Dortmund superstar Jadon Sancho in the January transfer window.
Following a stellar season at Klopp’s former club Dortmund last season, the England winger has had a rather difficult spell in November when he was taken off in the first half in a 4-0 defeat to Bayern Munich before he started on the bench against Barcelona in a crucial Champions League encounter
Dortmund head coach Lucien Favre has reportedly sparked some fireworks claiming that he preferred to select players who are “focused and ready”, though Sancho then scored after the winger was brought on from the bench in a 3-1 defeat at the Camp Nou against La Blaugrana.
However, rumors of a possible return to England for the former Manchester City attacker, have been reignited with Liverpool the most recent team linked with bringing back Sancho.
Although Dortmund has made it extremely clear that Sancho will not be up for sale anytime soon, there are reports which speak otherwise. However, Jurgen Klopp has addressed the situation of the transfer rumor and the German has pretty much ended any possible talks of Sancho to the red half of Merseyside.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the Merseyside derby against Everton the 52-year-old explained, “He’s a very good player. I have no clue where these kinds of things [the rumors] are coming from, but it cannot come from us because we never speak about it. If we would be involved, nobody would know about it apart from a person who wouldn’t speak about it. There’s nothing to say. I know how it sounds, but I cannot change that. There’s nothing to say about it, which can mean there’s absolutely nothing to say about it.”
