Leeds United have reportedly stepped up their interest in making a move for Liverpool’s forward Takumi Minamino ahead of Monday’s deadline day.
Marcelo Bielsa is on the hunt for reinforcements in the final third to add some creativity to his side and the Japan international Minamino is one of the names on the shopping list for the Elland Road outfit.
Jurgen Klopp has used Minamino as a bit-part player so far this season with the latter’s involvement limited to Carabao Cup action as he remains in line to make his first league start midway through the campaign.
According to reports from The Daily Mail, in what are now the final days of the January transfer window, Leeds are hoping to intensify the efforts to land Minamino from Anfield in a loan deal running until the end of the current season.
Minamino looks certain to fall down further in the pecking order in the Liverpool camp with Klopp closing in on the signing of longstanding target Luis Diaz in a big-money deal.
