Vinicius Junior’s second-half strike meant that Real Madrid were crowned the champions of Europe with a narrow 1-0 win over Liverpool in Paris on Saturday.

Despite a slow start to the game, the Merseysiders took control of possession and certainly offered the greater impact going forward in the attacking third.
Trent Alexander-Arnold made inroads from the right side of the pitch as sent a low delivery across the box but Salah’s effort on goal went in vain with Thibaut Courtois quick to spring low to his left to paw it away.
Courtois was at his brilliant best to keep his side in the affair with the Real shot-stopper making a superb save to deny Sadio Mane’s strike which was set to land up in the far corner of the net.
Karim Benzema made the run in behind the Reds defence and was able to slot the ball into the back of the net following a scramble only for a VAR check to disallow the strike with the score nil-nil at the half time whistle.
The second period saw the Spanish champions, who came onto the pitch with renewed energy, find the opener to break the deadlock as Vinicius darted behind Arnold and slotted the ball past Alisson.
Klopp’s changes off the bench in the form of Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota did give Liverpool some much-needed firepower going forward but was not enough to turn the game back in their favour.
Salah raced past the Real defenders in the dying stages of the game and rifled his effort which was kept out rather brilliantly by the man in form of Courtois with Carlo Ancelotti’s men getting past the finish line to emerge the winners.
