A first half strike from Sadio Mane helped Liverpool emerge winners against West Ham United in Saturday’s Premier League action at Anfield.

The home side got the game underway on the front foot as Alexander-Arnold sent Salah through on goal but the West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski was alive to the danger.
On the other end of the pitch, West Ham striker Michail Antonio tried an ambitious half volley which called Alisson Becker into action to turn over the crossbar.
Alisson was there to deny Antonio once again and moments later Liverpool had Sadio Mane to thank for being at the right place at the right time to slot home the opener.
Luis Diaz made a lively run through on the West Ham goal only to be brought down by Kurt Zouma on the edge of the box with Jurgen Klopp’s men heading into the interval with a slender lead.
A rare misjudgement from Virgil van Dijk allowed Jarrod Bowen to pose a threat but Andy Robertson raced back to put in a fantastic tackle and deny the in-form winger.
Diaz had his curling effort go just inches wide of finding the back of the net with both teams gearing up for the final 30 minutes of play.
West Ham should have found their leveller through Manuel Lanzini, who under pressure from the Liverpool defenders, put his strike flying over the bar with the hosts seeing out the dying stages and clinch a narrow but important win.
