Liverpool’s woes failed to subside with the Reds suffering a 2-1 defeat on home turf against Leeds United in Saturday’s Premier League clash.

Pascal Struijk was there for his side to deny Mo Salah from scoring in the first minute of play with the former heading the ball clear from underneath the crossbar.
On the other end of the pitch, Leeds United took the lead just minutes later with Joe Gomez’s misjudged pass claimed by Rodrigo and he made no mistake in slotting the ball into the empty net.
Liverpool replied through Salah who found the back of the net after Andy Robertson had floated in a teasing delivery from the left flank.
Brenden Aaronson struck the crossbar after being teed up by Rasmus Kristensen’s ball with the visitors creating all kinds of trouble going forward.
Darwin Nunez and Salah came close to scoring when the play resumed after the break but Leeds goalie Illan Meslier was immense in his display between the sticks.
Roberto Firmino’s low volley was denied by Meslier who has also put out a series of saves to keep out Nunez’s efforts with Liverpool pushing for a late winner which was eventually earned by the opposition.
Summerville made the most of Liverpool’s defensive fragilities to poke his strike past Alisson into the far corner of the net and clinch the win for Leeds.
