Liverpool went top of the league table for the time being following a convincing 4-0 win over rivals Manchester United at Anfield on Tuesday night.

The home side could not have asked for a better start to the Anfield contest with Klopp’s men taking the lead inside the opening 45 minutes through Luis Diaz.
Sadio Mane released his strike partner Mohamed Salah along the left flank and the latter delivered a pinpoint low cross for the lurking Diaz to slot home and make it 1-0.
Salah, the provider for the opener, got in on the action himself after Sadio Mane teed up the Egyptian with a sublime hooked pass which Salah put past David de Gea with ease.
Changes from the Manchester United bench at the half time break could not inspire them to break past the Liverpool backline who were on top form.
Despite United’s domination over the proceedings early on in the second period, Liverpool made it 3-0 thanks to Diaz setting up Mane whose first-time finish found the back of the net.
United could not escape further misery awaiting them in the final stages of the game with substitute Diogo Jota assisting Salah for his second of the game and rubber stamp the three points for Liverpool.
