The Reds put out one of the best displays seen by Jurgen Klopp’s men this season in domestic football as Liverpool FC supporter’s return to Anfield was marked with a 4-0 victory over Wolves.
Goals from Mohammad Salah, Joel Matip, Gini Wijnaldum and an own goal from the visitor’s full-back Nelson Semedo gifted the Merseysiders a superb home win, taking them back to the top of the Premier League standings along with Tottenham Hotspurs, with Jose Mourinho’s side being ahead just on goal difference.

Alisson Becker’s replacement between the sticks, Caoimhin Kelleher, was called into action early on at Anfield on Sunday as the Irishman scurried back tip away a fantastic lobbed effort from Daniel Podence.
However, on the other end, it was Liverpool FC who grabbed the lead in the 24th minute when a superb defence-splitting pass from Jordan Henderson was subject to a feeble control in the penalty box by opposition skipper Conor Coady, and Mohammad Salah made the most of the ex-Red’s mistake by putting the ball into the back of the net.

As Trent Alexander Arnold marked his return to first-team action after a month-long injury layoff, the star full-back found Sadio Mane’s run into the box with a spectacular delivery, and the latter’s finish was able to find the back of the net following Semedo’s attempted intervention.
Victory at home came at a great time for Jurgen Klopp and Co. after last weekend’s disappointment away at Brighton in a VAR-crazy 1-1 draw but the Merseysiders bounced back in emphatic fashion ahead of the upcoming final group stage fixture in the Champions League later this week.
