Liverpool admirers of Leeds United star striker Patrick Bamford as summer approaches

Leeds United forward Patrick Bamford has enjoyed a stellar campaign in front of the goal and his impressive run of displays have found him an admirer in Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool heading into this summer’s transfer window.

Reports from The Atheltic claim that the 15-goal star striker is being monitored by the Merseyside Reds who remain on the hunt for attacking reinforcements ahead of the next season.

Bamford’s recent extension could inflate transfer fees

The Englishman signed extended terms with the Elland Road outfit last summer and such a case might mean Liverpool having to splash an extra bit of cash to land the in-demand striker’s signature.

With 15 goals and seven assists, this season in 35 top-flight outings the 27-year-old Bamford would be gunning for a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the UEFA Euros making him a viable target for Klopp at Anfield.

Liverpool’s attacking troubles need an urgent answer

Jurgen Klopp’s side have fallen off their perch over the course of this campaign with the reigning champions enduring a drastic slump in form midway which has left them fighting hard for the Champions League qualifying spot as the season nears its end.

With the likes of Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane failing to hit the ground running and amid talk of the former being linked with an exit in the summer, Bamford is one name that would be looked upon by the Reds scouting team to solve their troubles up top on the pitch.
