The Reds will be monitoring the recent speculation growing over Kylian Mbappe’s long-term future at Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain amid claims that the player is keen to stage an exit from France next summer.
Reports from French news outlet L’Equipe suggest that long-term suitors Liverpool and Real Madrid will be alert to Mbappe’s transfer status heading into the new season with the star forward having just a year left on his PSG contract.
Mbappe is yet to agree upon an improved deal with the Parisians despite the club’s chief asserting that the World Cup-winning Frenchman will be putting pen to paper on an extended contract offer which will cement his near future at the Le Parc des Princes.
Liverpool are known to be admirers of the player’s talent but talk has gained ground in recent months that is Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid who are believed to be the frontrunners to land Mbappe’s much-coveted signature ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s Merseysiders.
However, with French football icon Zinedine Zidane no longer in charge of Madrid, it remains to be seen whether Mbappe would still consider Santiago Bernabéu to be his ideal next destination after calling it quits at PSG.
