Liverpool and Arsenal set to compete for West Bromwich Albion’s Matheus Pereira

West Bromwich Albion’s Matheus Pereira is a target for both Liverpool and Arsenal with the Brazillian wide player impressing during his campaign in the Premier League last season.

Reports from the Mirror suggest that West Brom are resigned to losing their star attacking figure in this summer’s transfer window but recently turned down a £7 million that arrived from Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal.

With the Baggies keen for a bid just higher than that, it is believed that the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal will intensify their interest in signing the 25-year-old Pereira to shore up their options up top on the football pitch.

Jurgen Klopp, besides being on the hunt for a new midfield man to fill the void left by the long-serving Gini Wijnaldum, has also been backed to use the transfer window to bring in fresh blood for his attacking department which often misfired in front of the goal across the 2020-21 season where the Reds barely managed a top-four finish in league action.

West Brom’s dropping down to the Championship means that they could now be forced into accepting a cut-price offer for Pereira from sides in the Premier League who have registered interest in making a move for the highly-rated forward.
