Long-term target Thiago Alcantara will be heading to Merseyside very soon after reports have confirmed that Liverpool FC and Bayern Munich have agreed upon a transfer fee for the midfielder.
The 29-year old was Jurgen Klopp’s preferred signing this summer for the Reds, and the player himself was believed to be eager on securing a move to Anfield. However, talks between the two clubs had been on the halt recently due to Bayern’s pricing demands to sanction Thiago’s sale.
A fee worth €30 million was being asked of Liverpool FC to finalize Thiago’s deal, an amount which the Premier League champions were largely reluctant to shell out, considering the fact that the Spanish international was entering into the final year of his deal with the German club.
Liverpool FC will now meet the price-tag for the playmaker despite showing early resistance in ceding to Bayern’s wants. The major turn of events is understood to be due to Klopp being pervasive on bringing Thiago to Anfield before the transfer window closed down.
