Liverpool FC kick off their 2020-21 preparations with two friendly games scheduled for the Reds in the coming week. Both matches will be played by Jurgen Klopp’s men as a part of their ongoing pre-season training camp being held in Austria.
Both pre-season fixtures were announced by the Premier League champions across their social media profiles.
The Anfield giants’ first game will be against Bundesliga outfit VfB Stuttgart at the Stadion Burgerau in a behind-closed-doors encounter. VfB Stuttgart, by achieving a second-place finish in the 2019-20 Bundesliga 2 standings, gained promotion for the upcoming season of German top-flight football.
Liverpool FC plays VfB Stuttgart on 22 August with the kick-off time scheduled for 4 PM GMT.
Following their game against their German opponents, the Merseyside club faces Austrian league champions RB Salzburg. The latter are a familiar opponent for Jurgen Klopp’s side, with the Reds having played them twice last season in the UEFA Champions League group stages.
The game against Salzburg, Takumi Minamino’s former side, is scheduled to be held at the 25000-seater Red Bull Arena on 25 August at 2 PM GMT.
Just four days after their fixture against the Austrian side, Jurgen Klopp’s side meets FA Cup holders Arsenal in the curtain-raiser FA Community Shield at the iconic Wembley Stadium.
