Jurgen Klopp’s men are set to kick off their 2020-21 season with the curtain-raiser FA Community Shield clash against Arsenal on 29th August. The date was confirmed by Liverpool FC through a post on the club’s Twitter account.

The game, that is traditionally held at the Wembley Stadium, will be played behind closed doors. Despite the start of a new season, no supporters will be allowed in the stands in order to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Reds fanbase all over the world will no doubt be hoping their side clinch a victory over Mikel Arteta’s side in the upcoming annual fixture. Arsenal qualifies for Community Sheild participation as a result of them defeating Chelsea in the FA Cup finals earlier this month.
Liverpool FC had contested the 2019-20 FA Community Shield as well against 2018-19 Premier League title-winners Manchester City. The Merseyside club, however, had fallen to a defeat to Pep Guardiola’s men on a penalty shootout following a 1-1 stalemate in the game contested last summer.
