Liverpool FC announced the capture of 17-year old shot-stopper Marcelo Pitaluga in an announcement across the club’s official website, liverpoolfc.com.
Pitaluga joins the Premier League champions from Brazilian outfit Fluminense on a permanent basis and is expected to link up with the youth development squads of the Merseyside club to foster his development as a future first-team star for the Reds.
The teenager was a part of the Brazil squad that won the FIFA U17 World Cup last year in November, with the tournament being held at home soil for the Seleção.
Welcome to the Reds, Marcelo Pitaluga 🙌🔴

Just days before the official announcement of Liverpool FC on its social media handles that confirmed the addition of Pitaluga to the Anfield giants, the 17-year old had been snapped at the club’s Melwood training facility, taking part in goalkeeping sessions with Alisson and Adrian.
Pitaluga is understood to have signed a three-year-long deal with Jurgen Klopp’s side and looks to be a highly promising addition to the Reds’ youth squads that will be gunning for glory in the Premier League 2 this season.
