Liverpool backed to make a move for Harry Kane next summer

Tottenham Hotspur’s wantaway star striker Harry Kane could have Liverpool join the chasing pack come next summer in which the England skipper will be backed to leave Spurs.

Kane had his future at the club hanging in the balance over the course of this summer with the Premier League holders Manchester City credited with a strong interest in landing his signature in a mega-money move.

Despite City being backed as the frontrunners in the race to sign Kane this summer, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy remained firm on the pricing front with Levy in no mood to budge on his £150 million price-tag.

Reports from The Express have quoted former Spurs boss and now a pundit for Sky Sports Tim Sherwood saying that he expects Manchester City to bow out of the race to make a move for Kane in the summer of 2022.

Sherwood reckons the likes of Liverpool to move ahead of other suitors Chelsea and Manchester United in the line to pursue Kane’s signature next summer with both Chelsea and United having added big-name forwards to their ranks this time around.

“For me, it looks like it might be now or never.”

“Harry Kane, at the end of next season, I think he stays there for the whole season, even though he said that he is staying ‘for this summer’.

“Other teams, like Man City probably go for Erling Haaland now. On a £70 million buy, so that blocks the pathway. He won’t leave for leaving sake.

“He will leave because he needs to go to a club where he knows they can win.

“Now, that’s probably Liverpool in the Premier League, Manchester United, Manchester City or Chelsea. It won’t be Chelsea now because they have signed Romelu Lukaku.

“I can see him staying there for the remainder of his career.

“That could be the only one, couldn’t it? Man United because Ronaldo isn’t going to be there forever.”
