Real Madrid man Toni Kroos has emerged on Liverpool’s transfer radar for the summer with the Reds scouting the market for a replacement that will fill the void left by Gini Wijnaldum’s imminent move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Wijnaldum seems to have had a change of heart concerning his next destination as PSG came calling with a big-money deal which convinced the Dutchman to rebuff interest from long-term suitors FC Barcelona.
Kroos is a surprise target for Klopp and Liverpool
Reports from Diarigol claim Liverpool being interested to make a move for the World Cup-winning star midfielder who will be a big name to reckon with should he take up Wijnaldum’s spot in the centre of the park for the Anfield giants.
However, at 31 years of age, Kroos does not present himself to be an ideal Liverpool signing with the German now in the twilight of his career and the Reds usually using the summer window to bring in young promising players with the future in mind.
Liverpool’s transfer business could dictate their 2021-22 showings
The Reds enjoyed a tremendous finish to an otherwise faltering season last time around but Jurgen Klopp’s men will be backed to aim for the top-flight crown heading into the 2021-22 campaign by a number of betting sites.
Klopp’s actions in the transfer market, particularly finding a replacement for Wijnaldum, as well offloading fringe first-team players will go a massive way in a minor rebuild of his side who will be gunning for their 20th league title.
