Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has got a surprise England call-up for the upcoming Nations League games following his return from injury.
Henderson was not part of The Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate’s initial squad after being sidelined from Liverpool’s last three games with a hamstring injury but has been called up to the England fold now, according to a report from ESPN.
The 32-year-old’s inclusion in the national squad comes after Manchester City’s maestro Kalvin Phillips withdrew due to a shoulder issue which forced Southgate into a hunt for an emergency solution.
The likes of Curtis Jones, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain remain on the recovery table at Anfield with Klopp having a new option in the shape of deadline day signing Arthur Melo to turn out in his midfield ranks.
