A statement from the club’s official website sounded out details of the transfer which had long been a priority for Bayern who had been keeping close tabs on Mane’s contract situation on Merseyside leading up to this summer.
The Senegal international had asked for a fresh challenge in his career post the Champions League final against Real Madrid, a game which turned out to be Mane’s 269th and final outing since his move to Liverpool in the summer of 2016.
He had joined Jurgen Klopp’s Merseysiders from Southampton and notched up incredible numbers of 120 goals and 38 assists to his name while establishing himself as one of the most lethal attacking names across Europe.
