Liverpool confirm the sale of promising midfielder to Championship club

Ovie Ejaria has signed for Championship outfit Reading on a permanent deal ahead of the 2020-21 season, confirmed the Merseyside giants. Liverpool FC are set to earn a reported figure of £3.5 million following the midfielder’s departure for the Berkshire-based club.

Once considered a rising youth prospect in the Reds’ development squads, Ejaria was unable to make a breakthrough into the club’s senior side. Since arriving at the Anfield outfit from Arsenal in 2014, Ejaria featured on eight occasions for Jurgen Klopp’s side across all competitions.

The 22-year old made his Premier League debut for Liverpool FC in the club’s 6-1 victory over Watford nearly four years ago. Following that, only one more league outing came the England U21 international’s way at the Merseyside giants.

Reading was believed to be Ejaria’s preferred destination amid his impending Liverpool FC exit this summer despite a number of other Championship sides being interested in signing the youngster. The player had been a part of the Reading family for the last season and a half while on loan from the Reds.
