Liverpool have reportedly confirmed the signing of young full-back Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen with the player penning a long-term deal.
Ramsay was rumoured to be a priority on the transfer front for Liverpool this summer with Jurgen Klopp looking to add to his options in defence and provide cover for Trent Alexander-Arnold in the right-back role.
A statement from the club’s official website confirms that Liverpool have made their third signing of the transfer window in the Scotland U21 international Ramsay who has passed his medical at the AXA Training Centre.
The 18-year-old defender had enjoyed a superb campaign last term for Abrdeen, bagging the Scottish Football Writers’ Association’s Young Player of the Year for 2021-22 award and a nomination for the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award.
Ramsay’s arrival at Anfield could open the door wide open for Neco Williams to leave before the transfer window shuts with the Wales right-back courted by the likes of the newly promoted Fulham and Nottingham Forest.
