Liverpool considering approach for Sevilla star Lucas Ocampos

Sevilla first-team regular Lucas Ocampos has courted interest from Liverpool FC heading into the summer transfer window, claim reports from Spanish outlet La Razon.

Ocampos has been a vital part of the Sevilla side under the charge of ex-Spain national team boss Julen Lopetegui and following his recent attacking exploits with the La Liga outfit earning plaudits, the Argentine international forward could be set to land in England come the summer.

Liverpool FC’s inconsistent fortunes in front of the goal this season have been pointed by many, including Anfield hero Jamie Carragher following the recent 2-0 loss to Everton, and Jurgen Klopp could be tempted to add to his misfiring attacking options before the onset of the 2021-22 campaign.

The likes of Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri could be set to take the exit door out of Anfield in the summer, according to persistent speculation, and the embattled Premier League holders wil hope to fill the vacancy by adding a player of Ocampos’ caliber.

A release clause worth £56 million in Ocampos’ contract besides interest in the forward from a number of clubs across the continent suggests that the Merseyside Reds are in for a tough battle to land the highly-rated La Liga star.
