Liverpool could bid for Wolves star Matheus Nunes in the upcoming transfer window

Liverpool are interested in signing Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes and might make a bid for the Portuguese star as early as January.

Nunes had just left Sporting Lisbon for Wolves during the summer transfer window. The 24-year-old had a lot of interest over the past several months but decided to sign with Wolves, probably because of the team’s sizable Portuguese population.

Nunes may already be leaving the club despite only moving this year. Liverpool are interested in Nunes and might make a play for him in the January transfer window, according to the Liverpool Echo.

According to the source, Liverpool is prepared to make significant investments in order to address their weakened midfield zone.

The Liverpool team has struggled to perform as normal under Jurgen Klopp, and the midfielders have drawn particular criticism.

James Milner and Jordan Henderson are two players who are starting to lose their effectiveness, and Fabio Carvalho and Harvey Elliot might not have the experience necessary to be playing for Liverpool consistently at the highest level just yet.

Nunes would bring a wealth of knowledge at a young age, not just in league football but also in European competitions. The Wolves star has shown his quality in recent games and he could be a successor to Jordan Henderson.

The Reds are also linked with Jude Bellingham, and it remains to be seen whether they decide to go for the Portuguese midfielder or the English maestro.
