Liverpool could gain ground in attempts to land longstanding target Raphinha

Liverpool could gain ground in their attempts to land longstanding target Raphinha with the player unlikely to pen a new deal at Elland Road.

Raphinha has long been linked with a switch to Anfield with the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp left impressed by the former’s displays at Leeds since making the move to England’s top flight from Rennes.

A report from Brasil UOL has claimed that Raphinha is not keen on putting pen to paper on a new long-deal with Leeds who have put forth a proposal of that release clause being set at £70million.

Raphinha is now backed to be unlikely to sign extended terms with Leeds which includes a release clause and this could put Liverpool in the driver’s seat for an attacking player who has earned rave reviews for his displays.

Mohamed Salah’s long drawn out contract standoff, however, continues to be the focus for the Liverpool camp with Jurgen Klopp keen to tie down his talisman to a new deal that runs beyond the summer of 2023.
