Liverpool are credited with an interest in signing Athletico Bilbao starlet Nico Williams with Jurgen Klopp’s side looking to explore a potential move for the promising forward.
The Reds have brought in major reinforcements for their front line in recent times with Darwin Nunez arriving last summer for a club record fee while Dutch winger Cody Gakpo made the move to Anfield this January.
Klopp’s men, however, have failed to impress so far this season as they remain on the search for their first league win of the new calendar year which could force the Liverpool boss into rebuilding his ranks over the summer.
According to a report from the Spanish publication AS ( via The Liverpool Echo), it is claimed that the 20-year-old Nico Williams, who is the brother of Bilbao captain Inaki Williams, is wanted by both Liverpool and Aston Villa.
The young Williams has a 44 million release clause in his contract with Bilbao which could complicate matters for Liverpool who are expected to prioritise signing a new midfielder in the summer to bolster their squad.
