Liverpool defender seals move to the MLS on loan

Left-back Tony Gallacher has signed for Major League Soccer outfit Toronto FC on a short loan stint until January, confirmed Liverpool FC through a communication posted on their official website.

Gallacher has been a regular fixture for the Reds’ youth squads since signing for the Premier League champions two and a half years ago from Falkirk. The 21-year old defender is seen as a promising talent by the Liverpool FC coaching staff despite the Scott yet to force his way into Jurgen Klopp’s senior squad at Anfield.

He has made just a sole appearance for the first-team squad of Liverpool FC, in an EFL Cup tie against Aston Villa. The presence of more experienced options at the club such as Andy Robertson and James Milner at left-back has made it an extremely tough task for Gallacher to be considered as even a squad-rotation alternative.

However, a short spell away from Anfield is just what is needed for the youngster at this point of his playing career in the Reds shirt. Gallacher would arrive at Toronto FC as a guaranteed starter, and getting as many minutes on the pitch as possible under his belt would certainly be the full-backs aim before heading back to England next year.
