Liverpool have emerged as the frontrunners for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo with the Reds’ interest set to be prioritised by the South Coast outfit.

According to a claim from the Ecuadorian publication Tera Deportes ( via The Daily Express), it is understood that Liverpool will be given importance should they step up their approach for signing the highly rated midfield talent Caicedo.

Despite having played in only 15 Premier League matches, the 20-year-old Caicedo with Brighton informing clubs that they will have to wait until after the World Cup to pursue a deal.

Liverpool have long been on the hunt for reinforcements to freshen their injury-hit midfield ranks and Jurgen Klopp had dipped into the transfer market on deadline day to bring in Juventus man Arthur Melo on loan as an emergency signing.

Brighton’s £50 million valuation of Caicedo is unlikely to play spoilsport to Liverpool’s plans of signing the youngster with Klopp ready to spend the big bucks on bolstering his squad come the forthcoming transfer windows.
